The Aunt Jean’s Story
Fresh from the farm - that's been the philosophy of generations of Kiwi dairy farmers, going back to an era when everyone was more connected to where our food came from. Aunt Jean's Dairy is the next evolution of this belief. As farmers, we believe that the secret to great-tasting pure milk is making sure our customers get it direct from the farm.

During more than 80 years of dairy farming in Nelson, the Raine family has maintained a passionate belief that customers want a direct connection with the farm producing their milk. And in today's world, that feels more important than ever. Julian and Cathy Raine have created Aunt Jean's Dairy so you can experience milk the way it should be. Farm-fresh milk delivered in clear glass bottles.
Our Philosophy
For generations, we have held fast to our belief in simplicity, quality and taste. Today, Aunt Jean's Dairy remains true to this approach, providing fresh milk from A2-tested cows, bottled on the farm and then delivered directly to your local supermarket in clear glass bottles.
Traceability
Meet our farmers. We're proud to say each individual bottle of Aunt Jean's Dairy milk identifies its farm of origin. So wherever you are in New Zealand, you'll be able to enjoy fresh Aunt Jean's Dairy milk, traceable to an individual farm. Look for the tamper-proof seal showing details of the farm your milk came from. Our network of local farms produces the highest quality fresh milk in your region - delivered fresh each day.
Fresh from the Farmer
Meet our cows. We want to share our passion for the delicious milk our dairy cows provide. We're so committed to this connection with our customers that you can actually meet the cows that provide your milk. Simply contact the farm where your milk comes from to arrange a visit.
All our milk comes from A2-tested cows. Raised in the open air, our cows graze freely on the lush, green grass of our local farms. We never feed them palm kernel expeller or add any permeates to the milk. Our milk isn't homogenised.
All we produce is beautiful milk, pure and farm-fresh.
We wouldn't have it any other way, because we believe well-cared-for cows produce more delicious milk.
Sustainability
Glass is a better choice. Milk in glass bottles is fresher and healthier. It also tastes and looks better. Glass preserves flavour, so all you taste is the pure flavour of our premium quality milk. Glass is healthier too, because it's pure and non-reactive, forming a natural barrier to protect the quality of the milk. Glass is made from 100% natural substances, so it's sustainable and infinitely recyclable.

Award Winning
In 2017 we were very proud to receive a gold award for our packaging at the Transform Awards Asia-Pacific. Our distinctive and beautiful packaging, designed for us by Voice Brand Agency, took out the top spot up against some of the world’s biggest brands.
Our Aunt Jean's Dairy light milk was also awarded Highly Commended, Best Dairy category, in the 2018 Healthy Food Guide Awards. The 2018 Healthy Food Guide Awards attracted nearly 600 entries so we were delighted to receive this recognition.
